BPL Medical Technologies Acquires South Korea’s Yozma BMtech

As part of this strategic move, BPL Medical Technologies has launched BM Tech’s advanced bone mineral density measuring machines in India and Dubai

BPL Medical Technologies, one of India’s leading medical technology companies, has recently announced the acquisition of Yozma BMtech Co., Ltd., a South Korea-based company specialising in bone mineral density (BMD) diagnostic solutions. The acquisition strengthens BPL MedTech’s imaging and diagnostics portfolio in preventive healthcare, bone health, and women’s health.

As part of this strategic move, BPL Medical Technologies has launched BM Tech’s advanced bone mineral density measuring machines in India and Dubai, expanding access to early screening and monitoring solutions for osteoporosis and other bone-related conditions. The newly introduced systems combine high-precision diagnostics with patient-friendly design. Key features include high-speed scanning with high-resolution imaging, low-radiation exposure for enhanced patient safety, and advanced fan-beam technology with multi-channel detectors for accurate measurement of bone density across multiple anatomical sites. Certain models also enable whole-body bone densitometry and body composition analysis, supporting comprehensive preventive health assessments. Additionally, the compact design allows use in space-constrained clinical settings, improving accessibility for hospitals and diagnostic centres.

The launch marks a significant step in addressing the growing need for preventive diagnostics driven by ageing populations, rising osteoporosis prevalence, and increasing lifestyle-related risks. The integration of BM Tech’s technology enhances BPL’s capabilities in delivering comprehensive diagnostic solutions while reinforcing its presence in the women’s health segment, where bone density assessment plays a critical role in managing post-menopausal health risks.

Commenting on the same, Dr Shravan Subramanyam, Managing Director, BPL Medical Technologies, shared, “This acquisition represents a significant step in strengthening our preventive healthcare and diagnostics portfolio. Bone health, particularly among women and ageing populations, requires greater focus on early detection and monitoring. By bringing advanced bone mineral density technology to key markets, we aim to improve access to reliable screening solutions and support better clinical outcomes.”

The acquisition is expected to accelerate innovation in imaging and diagnostics while strengthening BPL’s footprint in international markets. By combining BM Tech’s specialised technology with BPL’s manufacturing, distribution, and clinical expertise, the company aims to advance early detection solutions that improve patient outcomes.
