Raffles Medical Group has announced a five-year S$5 million commitment to increase access to healthcare and education, advance healthy longevity research and support vulnerable communities as it marks its 50th anniversary.
The Group will also award 50 scholarships over the next five years to students from Singapore and the region pursuing healthcare-related studies. Since 2012, Raffles Medical Group has provided 51 scholarships to Singaporeans and others in the region.
The announcements were made at the Group’s 50th Anniversary Dinner, attended by Guest of Honour Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of the Republic of Singapore, and Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies.
The S$5 million commitment will focus on four priority areas: increasing access to healthcare, supporting education, advancing healthy longevity research and uplifting vulnerable communities.
One of the first initiatives is a two-year partnership with Children’s Aid Limited, formerly known as Children’s Aid Society. The partnership will support children and youths who have experienced adverse life circumstances and are receiving residential care through Melrose Home and therapeutic and counselling services through Melrose Care.
Raffles Medical Group’s support will include funding a senior on-site psychologist, providing workshops on mental wellness and sleep hygiene, and offering vaccinations and medical consultations.
The partnership will continue as Children’s Aid Limited prepares to move to Melrose Village, a new residential care environment designed to combine trauma-informed care, therapeutic support and apartment-style living. The move is targeted for the end of 2027.
Raffles Medical Group also launched a commemorative book, “Moments that Matter, Fifty Years of Care”, featuring the stories of 50 individuals who helped shape the organisation’s development.
The book traces the Group’s growth from a two-clinic practice established in 1976 to an integrated healthcare network comprising four hospitals and more than 100 clinics across 12 cities in five countries.
The anniversary follows another milestone for the Group, which crossed 50 million cumulative patient visits across its healthcare network in July 2026.
