Noble hospitals launches Maharashtra’s first Indigenous Robotic Surgical System

Pune’s Noble Hospitals and Research Centre has taken a significant leap in healthcare innovation by introducing Maharashtra’s first indigenously developed robotic surgical system, the SSI Mantra 3. This milestone marks a new era in precision surgery, enhancing patient outcomes through cutting-edge technology. Approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), the SSI Mantra system is poised to revolutionize complex surgical procedures.

The SSI Mantra 3 features a suite of advanced capabilities, such as five lean robotic arms, an immersive 3D HD headset for enhanced visual clarity, and a vision cart with 3D 4K imaging, offering surgeons unparalleled precision and control during procedures.

Dr. Ashish Pokharkar, a leading oncosurgeon, described the system as a transformative addition to modern surgery. Highlighting its capabilities, he shared details of a recent case involving a 34-year-old dentist diagnosed with colon cancer. The patient underwent a robotic right extended hemicolectomy, which was completed with minimal incisions, superior precision, and a faster recovery time. “Compared to traditional methods, this technology allows for greater range of movement and shorter hospital stays, significantly enhancing patient comfort,” said Dr. Umesh Paprunia.
