Qmed Asia and Intel collaborate on unified patient monitoring platform for smart wards

The platform combines bedside device data, continuous monitoring and Early Warning Score alerts into a centralised Smart Ward dashboard built on Intel technology.

Qmed Asia has entered a strategic collaboration with Intel to accelerate the development of intelligent healthcare infrastructure for hospitals.

The collaboration centres on Qmed Asia’s Unified Patient Monitoring Solution, which is designed to consolidate patient monitoring data from multiple medical devices and clinical systems into a centralised platform.

Intel has made its Patient Monitoring Hub Reference Implementation available to Qmed Asia. The solution is optimised on Intel Core Ultra platforms and combines continuous patient monitoring, medical device integration and clinical workflows within a unified environment.

The Unified Patient Monitoring Hub securely aggregates data from connected bedside devices into a central Smart Ward dashboard. It supports vendor-neutral medical device integration, continuous patient monitoring, Early Warning Score alerts and scalable edge computing.

Qmed Asia and Intel said the platform is intended to address fragmented patient information across devices and systems, giving clinical teams greater visibility into patient status and supporting more timely decision-making.

The collaboration combines Intel’s reference architecture and edge computing capabilities with Qmed Asia’s healthcare software and clinical domain expertise.

The Smart Ward rollout is already underway in hospitals across Malaysia. Qmed Asia said the setup is designed to scale into other healthcare systems across the region that face similar challenges with fragmented patient data.
