Haier Biomedical presents digital blood-management platform at ISBT Congress 2026

The platform combines connected storage equipment, RFID tracking, automation and real-time monitoring across blood collection, processing, transportation and clinical use.

Haier Biomedical has presented an integrated digital blood-management platform at the ISBT Congress 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The platform covers blood collection, component processing, low-temperature storage, intelligent transportation and clinical application.

It combines equipment including a plasma apheresis system, automatic blood-component separator, plasma contact shock freezer and automated blood-management refrigerator.

The digital architecture uses artificial intelligence, automation, Internet of Things connectivity and RFID technology to support real-time monitoring and traceability across the blood-management process.

Haier Biomedical presented the deployment of its automated blood-management refrigerators at New Arcispedale Sant’Anna Hospital in Ferrara, Italy. The hospital moved from paper records and manual tracking to RFID-enabled refrigerators that support electronic cross-matching, automated inventory and bedside blood requests.

The company said the system reduced blood-bag retrieval time to under one minute. Its secure drawers, automated alarms and inventory functions are intended to reduce errors, waste and administrative workload.

Haier Biomedical also highlighted deployments at HemoRio Blood Bank in Brazil and Asia Pacific Medical Center in the Philippines, where connected refrigerators were used to establish digital blood tracking.

The company’s U-Blood solutions are currently operating in markets including Germany, Italy, Thailand, the Philippines, Morocco, Brazil, Zambia and Kenya.
