Taiwan-based ICP DAS-BMP unveils advanced engineered TPUs

ICP DAS-BMP (Biomedical Polymers), a Taiwan-based medical TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) manufacturer and supplier, will unveil its latest innovation, the Engineering Arothane TPU (EARP Series) at Medtec China 2024.

This rigid TPU based on medical-grade aromatic polyester features enhanced processability, high glass transition temperature (Tg), and light transmission properties. It can be used as a rigid medical connector or as an auxiliary material in orthodontic treatment.

ICP DAS-BMP will also exhibit its Arothane ARP-WG series. This aromatic polyether-based TPU is infused with 40-60 percent tungsten as a radiopacifier, having superior radiopacity compared to barium sulfate, which is essential for small or thin-walled medical devices. Additional features of the ARP-WG series include small size, high flowability, and superior dispersion, preferred for guidewire coating materials. In addition to these innovations, ICP DAS-BMP will also showcase Arothane ARP-B20 and Durathane ALC-B40.

In response to market demand, ICP DAS-BMP is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of its new ARP Series soft materials with hardness levels below 70A. This series includes ARP-60A, ARP-63A and ARP-67A, providing customers with a wider range of options to meet the diverse needs of medical applications.
