Signia has expanded its Integrated Xperience (IX) hearing aid portfolio, making a broader range of custom and instant-fit solutions available through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, and Indian Health Service. The move addresses a key unmet need in hearing care: providing flexible, personalised solutions that cater to the diverse lifestyles and preferences of veterans.
Hearing loss management is often challenged by limited device flexibility and the need for multiple fitting processes. By offering both custom-fit and instant-fit devices within a single platform, Signia aims to simplify access while improving user experience. The expanded portfolio now includes CIC Rechargeable Custom IX, Silk IX, and Active Pro IX, alongside traditional receiver-in-canal and behind-the-ear models, giving users greater choice across form factors.
A key differentiator of the IX platform is its RealTime Conversation Enhancement technology, designed to improve speech understanding in dynamic, noisy environments. The system has demonstrated a 22 percent improvement in speech comprehension in group conversations compared to leading competitors, addressing one of the most significant challenges faced by hearing aid users.
The newly introduced solutions emphasise both convenience and accessibility. Instant-fit devices such as Silk IX and Active Pro IX can be fitted without the need for ear mould impressions, allowing for faster deployment and same-day fitting in clinical settings. This reduces barriers to adoption and supports more efficient service delivery for audiologists.
From a market perspective, the target population includes veterans with varying degrees of hearing loss, as well as individuals prioritising discretion, connectivity, or ease of use. The ability to provide multiple options within a unified platform enables more tailored care pathways across clinical and lifestyle needs.
