Synapxe launches sector-wide agentic AI platform for Singapore public healthcare

AgentSea enables public healthcare professionals to create, use and share AI agents for clinical, operational and administrative workflows, with more than 12,000 agents created since launch.

Synapxe has launched AgentSea, a sector-wide agentic AI platform that allows healthcare professionals across Singapore’s public healthcare system to create, use and share personalised AI agents for clinical, operational and administrative tasks.

The platform enables users to build and customise AI agents using natural language, with little to no technical expertise required.

Healthcare professionals can use the agents for tasks ranging from clinical record summarisation and procurement reviews to roster generation, pre-clerking and other productivity workflows.

The announcement was made by Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information and Health Tan Kiat How at the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition APAC at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre.

AgentSea builds on earlier national AI initiatives including HEALIX, Synapxe Tandem and AimSG, and forms part of Singapore’s broader strategy to deploy AI responsibly across the public healthcare sector.

More than 12,000 AI agents have been created on AgentSea since the platform was introduced just over two months ago.

Synapxe said healthcare professionals are using the platform not only for general productivity tasks but also for specialised clinical and operational workflows.

Assistant Professor Kenneth Michael Chew, Consultant from the Department of Cardiology at National Heart Centre Singapore, developed an AI agent to support pre-clerking and preparation for complex patient consultations.

“Pre-clerking refers to preparation work done prior to patient consultations. It can take considerable time and effort, and includes reviewing patient histories, flagging relevant clinical details, and consolidating records,” he said.

“Having an AI agent aid in these tasks has made this work more manageable. Through AgentSea, I was able to create a specific agent for this task, even without coding experience.”

He added that the platform’s Test Agent Response feature allowed him to improve and verify outputs before use.

“This has not replaced the need for verification or my own clinical assessment, but has made my preparation more efficient, allowing me to focus on delivering more personalised care during consultations.”

AgentSea is also designed to support collaboration across teams and institutions.

Of the agents created so far, more than 300 have been made shareable for other users to reuse and adapt.

Healthcare professionals developing more complex enterprise agents can also work with Synapxe on use cases spanning employee services, IT support, clinical operations and selected clinical workflows.

Examples currently being explored include an HR agent for employee data change requests and an agent for clinical operations teams that can support report preparation, surgical-round summaries and medication calculations.

Synapxe said these applications are intended to reduce manual work, improve turnaround times and increase operational efficiency across the public healthcare system.

The platform was co-developed with Amazon Web Services and combines healthcare-domain expertise with agentic AI capabilities.

AgentSea operates within a governed environment that incorporates security, data protection and privacy safeguards.

The platform is aligned with Singapore’s national agentic AI governance standards and includes controls such as approved tools and connectors, audit logging and monitoring.

Sensitive healthcare information is designed to remain protected and is not shared externally.

Healthcare professionals will also have access to training workshops, learning resources and collaboration challenges to build confidence in using AI agents and encourage co-creation across institutions.
