Key Announcement:

  • Royal Philips and SingHealth announce a strategic partnership to accelerate digital healthcare transformation in Singapore.
  • Objective: Enhance patient care by co-designing and integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and predictive data management solutions.
  • Goal: Fully implement digital-first healthcare solutions by 2028.

The collaboration aims to enhance patient care through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and predictive data management, with full implementation targeted by 2028.

The partnership focuses on three key initiatives: streamlining imaging data workflows, optimizing ICU capacity, and improving workflow efficiency. By developing a standardized data architecture, the initiative aims to enhance diagnostics and patient outcomes while leveraging advanced monitoring and AI tools to support healthcare professionals in directing care to the right patient at the right time.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signifies a major step in building a robust and standardized data ecosystem for SingHealth. With Philips' state-of-the-art healthcare technologies, the collaboration will enable seamless digital workflows, enhance clinical decision-making, and advance patient-centric care through a digital-first strategy.

Philips and SingHealth will establish dedicated teams to execute three key projects over the next three years. The first project will integrate imaging with AI to improve digital image workflows across Radiology, Pathology, and other clinical imaging applications, allowing for automated acquisition, storage, and distribution. The second project will deploy predictive enterprise data management to provide real-time, actionable clinical insights, leveraging AI to enhance decision-making and enterprise storage capabilities. The third initiative will focus on developing a Smart ICU, utilizing AI-powered monitoring tools and alarm management systems to optimize capacity and improve patient care.

Hung Choong Hwang, Country Manager, Philips Singapore, emphasized the importance of this partnership in setting new benchmarks for healthcare innovation, quality, and resilience. Jasper Westerink, Acting Managing Director, Philips APAC, highlighted how this collaboration will contribute to advancing digital healthcare in Singapore and across the Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Lawrence Loke, Group Chief Information Officer, SingHealth, underscored the goal of prioritizing patient needs through AI-driven diagnostics and transformative care models.

This initiative aligns with findings from the Philips Future Health Index (FHI) 2024, which revealed that over 37% of healthcare leaders in Singapore are looking to external partnerships for data-driven decision-making. The partnership builds on previous successful collaborations, including Philips' iECG initiative for cardiovascular care and advancements in medical imaging at Singapore General Hospital.

By integrating AI and predictive data management into healthcare delivery, Philips and SingHealth are driving a new era of patient-centered, technology-driven healthcare, reinforcing Singapore’s position as a leading medical innovation hub in the region.
