Addiction Prevention Coalition and DisposeRx Expand Opioid Education and Disposal Efforts in Alabama

The initiative strengthens opioid prevention across Alabama by providing communities with vital education and at-home medication disposal solutions to reduce misuse and accidental overdoses.

The Addiction Prevention Coalition (APC) and DisposeRx have partnered to strengthen opioid education and safe medication disposal efforts across Alabama. This initiative aims to reduce opioid misuse and accidental overdoses by providing educational resources and easy-to-use medication disposal solutions.

Through this collaboration, APC will distribute DisposeRx’s at-home medication disposal packets to communities, schools, and families, empowering individuals to safely dispose of unused prescription opioids. The partnership supports statewide prevention efforts and aligns with Alabama’s fight against the opioid epidemic.

“Proper disposal of unused medications is a critical step in preventing opioid abuse,” said Leigh Corbett, Executive Director of APC. “This partnership with DisposeRx expands our reach and impact in Alabama communities.”
