Siemens Healthineers will support The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center to enhance healthcare delivery

Siemens Healthineers and The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center have expanded their existing strategic relationship to form a 10-year, $105 million Value Partnership to foster breakthroughs in clinical care, in addition to their longstanding research collaboration. The two parties are partnering to accelerate innovation in diagnostic and therapeutic imaging, AI and machine learning in radiology and radiation oncology and access to high-quality care for underserved patients. The new Value Partnership will include equipment purchases and consulting services over 10 years to transform care delivery through operational improvements and workforce development programs. 

Through their investment in imaging technology for diagnosis and treatment of cancer and cardiac and neurological conditions, Siemens Healthineers will support The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center to enhance healthcare delivery. Dedicated scientists from The Ohio State University and Siemens Healthineers to bolster the long-standing collaboration on translational research to advance clinical practice. As part of this Value Partnership, Siemens Healthineers will support the Ohio State University’s creation of a center of imaging excellence

A team of scientists from Siemens Healthineers will join the clinical and research teams from across The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, the Ohio State Heart and Vascular Center and Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital, and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) to collaborate on translational research to advance clinical practice at a new center for imaging excellence. The imaging center will bring together scientists, physicians, engineers, clinicians and learners from multiple disciplines to develop practical innovations that can be rapidly translated to practice for treating various types of diseases at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and health systems around the world. 

Innovations that have come out of the longstanding The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center - Siemens Healthineers collaboration in heart and vascular imaging include MRI techniques to detect inflammation of the heart muscle, rapid techniques for imaging cardiac function and blood flow, and methods to image the heart using a lower-cost, lower-field strength MRI scanner.
