The Military Nursing Service (MNS) Officers of Pune Garrison commemorated the culmination of the centenary celebrations of MNS Raising Day, highlighting the service's longstanding contribution to healthcare for Armed Forces personnel and their dependents.
Guided by the mission “Service with Smile”, MNS Officers have continued to uphold a tradition of dedication, professionalism and compassionate patient care. The centenary celebrations recognised the role of military nursing in supporting the health and wellbeing of the Armed Forces community.
As part of the commemorations, Brig Sreeletha P.S., Brigadier MNS, Headquarters Southern Command, along with serving and veteran MNS Officers, laid a wreath at the War Memorial at Headquarters Southern Command, Pune, paying tribute to personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of the nation.
The celebrations also included a commemorative event at Tapovan Lawns, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, attended the event.
A documentary highlighting the achievements and contributions of MNS Officers was screened during the programme. The documentary also showcased the camaraderie and collective strength of MNS Officers within the military healthcare community.
The centenary observance marked an important milestone for the MNS, reflecting on its legacy while recognising the continuing role of military nurses in delivering healthcare services to the Armed Forces community.
