Digital health ecosystem to participate in shaping the future of health and fitness technology
The Huawei TruSense system has now been introduced to the world. This innovative system marks another milestone in providing users with accurate, science-based health and fitness technology.
Huawei entered the wearables space 11 years ago, and to date, it has shipped more than 150 million wearables and gained more than 520 million users for its Huawei Health app. According to IDC, in the first quarter of 2024, Huawei ranked first in the world for wrist wearables shipped and has been the leading wearable brand in the Chinese market for five consecutive years.
"Huawei TruSense is a breakthrough for us in health and fitness sensor technology and will keep us at the forefront of technological development in this space. This advancement in digital health will help users adopt healthier lifestyles," said Rico Zhang, president of Huawei's smart wearables and health product line, during the launch event of Huawei TruSense.
Huawei TruSense measures more than 60 health and fitness indicators, covering six of the body's major systems, and also includes an emotional well-being component. The sensors monitor the user's heart rate and autonomic nervous system data. This data is incorporated into an algorithm that produces an assessment of the user's emotional well-being and stress levels, to help them enjoy the benefits of a healthy body and mind.
To ensure the long-term accuracy of its continuous vital signs monitoring, as well as to deliver faster results, Huawei has invested heavily in optical, electrical, and materials research, aiming to overcome the challenges that different skin tones, wrist sizes, and weather conditions pose to different sensors.
