Sysmex America Introduces XR-Series Hematology Solution for Clinical Laboratories

The next-generation hematology platform builds on the XN-Series with higher throughput, enhanced analytics and modular workflow support for high-complexity laboratories.

Sysmex America has introduced its next-generation XR-Series haematology solution for clinical laboratories, strengthening its haematology portfolio for laboratories managing rising testing volumes and operational pressure.

The launch addresses a core challenge in laboratory medicine: the need to deliver fast and reliable results while maintaining workflow efficiency. High-complexity laboratories are increasingly expected to manage larger sample volumes, reduce turnaround times and support clinicians with dependable diagnostic information without adding unnecessary manual burden.

At the centre of the XR-Series is the XR-10 Automated Haematology Module, designed for laboratories that require speed, consistency and reliable performance. The system builds on Sysmex’s widely adopted XN-Series while adding higher throughput, enhanced analytics and complementary workflow solutions.

The platform’s differentiation lies in its balance of continuity and advancement. For existing Sysmex haematology users, the XR-Series maintains familiar operation, user interface and modular design, allowing laboratories to adopt the new system while preserving existing workflow familiarity.

The XR-Series also includes enhancements to the WBC differential reagent, 3D scattergram visualisation and, on the XR-20 Automated Haematology Module, an optional WPC channel. These features are intended to support result interpretation, improve flagging accuracy and increase confidence in haematology results. The new reagent formulation allows greater separation of cell clusters in the WDF scattergram while maintaining accurate WBC differential flagging.

For high-volume laboratories, the XR-9000 configuration integrates with complementary products that automate routine steps and support smoother laboratory operations. This positions the XR-Series not only as an analyser upgrade, but as part of a broader laboratory workflow strategy.
