Akums hosts blood donation drives across Uttarakhand facilities in India

Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Limited, known for its innovative approach to healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing, has concluded its series of Blood Donation Drives organised from June 5th to June 7th, 2024, across its widespread facilities in Uttarakhand, India. The initiative garnered extensive employee engagement, culminating in a generous donation of 1381 units of blood in one collective effort.

Aligned with its commitment to community welfare and healthcare enhancement, Akums orchestrated these blood donation drives with the aim of raising awareness and contributing to the ongoing demand for blood supply in hospitals and blood banks. The event served as a beacon of hope for those in need of blood transfusions, with employees wholeheartedly stepping forward to donate.

Blood donation holds significant importance in human life. Every year, many struggle their lives due to blood shortages, especially those with rare blood types. Akums holds a major annual blood donation camp in Uttarakhand to raise awareness and meet the urgent need for blood in local blood banks and hospitals.

Emphasising the significance of blood donation, Sandeep Jain, Co-founder and Joint Managing Director of Akums, stated, "Our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation. The cooperation and support extended by partner hospitals and authorities were instrumental in ensuring the effectiveness and reach of the blood donation drives. Partnering institutions included the Government Blood Bank, District Hospital Haridwar, Shri Swami Bhumanand Hospital, Government Doon Hospital Dehradun, CMS Negi Base Hospital Kotdwar, Maa Gange Blood Bank Jageetpur, Kankhal, Haridwar, Mother Teressa Blood Bank Roorkee, and Himalayan Institute, Jolly Grant, Dehradun.
