IBA Unveils CASSY® to Revolutionize Radiopharmaceutical Production

Compact, stackable module designed to boost efficiency and flexibility in radiometal synthesis

Belgium-based IBA (Ion Beam Applications) has launched CASSY®—a compact and scalable synthesizer aimed at transforming the production of radiopharmaceuticals, particularly radiometals. The device is tailored to enhance workflow efficiency in research and clinical labs, offering a high degree of automation and adaptability.

Short for Compact Automated Scalable SYnthesis, CASSY® enables up to six units to be stacked within a single hot cell, significantly optimizing space utilization and expanding production capacity. Its user-friendly interface and ability to handle a wide range of radioisotopes make it suitable for both current needs and emerging applications like radiotheranostics.

CASSY® also integrates Fluidomica’s pre-loaded, single-use cassettes, which contain all necessary reagents and components, streamlining the entire synthesis process from start to finish. This disposable cassette system ensures consistency and reliability, aligning with regulatory and operational best practices in radiopharmaceutical production.

“This launch underscores our commitment to innovation in theranostics,” said Charles Kumps, President of IBA RadioPharma Solutions. “CASSY® delivers dependable, high-quality results and raises the bar for radiometal-based drug manufacturing.”
