In his opening remarks, Chi-Huey Wong stated:
"Taiwan Healthcare+ Expo is truly unique as the world’s only hospital-centric exhibition. Since its inception in 2017, it has become a vital platform connecting Taiwan’s healthcare industries with the global market. By uniting healthcare, ICT, and biotechnology, this event showcases innovations that enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery worldwide."
The expo, now recognized as Taiwan’s sixth-largest international trade fair, features between 1,000 to 2,000 boothsannually, attracting over 15,000 visitors and approximately 3,000 international professionals each year.
This year’s expo emphasizes the transformative power of AI in healthcare, highlighting three major themes: Medtech, Biotech, and Health Tech. Attendees will witness groundbreaking applications, including precise early disease detection, innovative treatment methods, and efficient medical management systems.
"With over two decades of investment in AI and as the world’s leading supplier of chips and hardware, Taiwan is uniquely positioned to drive advancements in healthcare and biomedicine," said Wong. "Through collaboration with domestic and international AI supply chain partners, this year’s expo showcases Taiwan’s latest AI-driven medical technologies that will revolutionize global healthcare."
The Taiwanese government’s newly launched “Healthy Taiwan” initiative underscores the nation’s commitment to promoting public health and enhancing medical care. With a robust national health insurance database, a newly established human bio-bank, and the world’s top-ranked healthcare system, Taiwan is at the forefront of precision medicine and early prevention solutions.
"The biomedical industry is transitioning from a focus on treatment to include precision prevention and health promotion. By leveraging AI to analyze and process medical big data, Taiwan is developing more efficient solutions for early disease detection and prevention," Wong added.
Taiwan’s biopharmaceutical sector is also gaining global recognition, with over 10 innovative drugs successfully launched internationally. AI is accelerating processes such as drug design, synthesis, manufacturing, and clinical trials, paving the way for even more impactful pharmaceutical breakthroughs.
The 8th Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan 2024 serves as a hub for bilateral collaborations and global partnerships, fostering innovation and progress in healthcare.
"We are excited to explore new collaborations with countries worldwide," said Wong. "This event not only showcases Taiwan’s achievements but also connects the global healthcare community to shape a healthier and more sustainable future."
Since 2017, Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan has served as the premier platform for showcasing Taiwan’s healthcare innovations.
